Kajamaka Iworopom Community Well

Kajamaka-Iworopom community well is located in Kajamaka village, Kanyum Sub County, Kumi district, Eastern Uganda.

The majority of the community members from the Kajamaka village relied on a borehole from the next village which is about 3 kilometers away. The community members were often forced to fetch water from local ponds that were shared with cattle, especially during dry season. This use of unsafe water exposed the community to diseases like typhoid, diarrhea and dysentery, which claimed many lives and affected their agricultural productivity due to frequent sickness. When Drop in the bucket provided clean water, through the community well, the water related diseases have since reduced, agricultural productivity has increased and the people are considerably happier and healthier
