The Apamu Community well is located in Otuboi sub-County in Kaberamaido district.
The people of Apamu community used to have to walk 4km looking for water at the swamp which was not safe to drink. The water was also consumed by several schools around Otuboi trading center. Due to the unsafe nature of the water source, there has been out breaks of typhoid in the community and the children from the nearby schools. However, from the time this community was given safe water through the community well, there have been few reported cases of typhoid and a general improvement of the health status of the community members of Apamu.
