Airogo-Oidii Community Well

Not all boreholes produce the same amount of water. Here at Drop in the Bucket, we do not drill unless we are sure there is enough water to sustain the community and provide everyone with enough clean water, but even then some wells yield greater amounts of water than others. This well in Airogo-oidii village is a high-yielding well. That means at some point in the future it could be be fitted with a solar or motorized pump so that it is able to serve people from other villages in the area. It would also allow the community to use the water to produce food both for consumption and for sale to generate income to sustain their families and to send their children to school. Before the well, everybody in this community was fetching water from a swamp but now they have clean water every day.
