There are 4 neighboring villages that the well is serving. (Kagavu, Kyankowe, Mawaga and Kasoozo)

The school has 389 pupils (220 boys and 160 girls) and 12 teachers. Twenty orphans attend the school. It is a community-operated school built on land donated by a local man named Sserunjogi. There are working pit latrines at the school that have been in operation for three years.

Before the well, the nearest source of safe drinking water was 4kms away, and the community used water from a contaminated pond. The school and local community are now benefiting greatly from having a safe water source that is nearby.
