The Kyankowe Day and Boarding School is in central Uganda. It is centrally located near five villages in the Kyankowe parish. 420 pupils attend school there, 223 boys and 197 girls. Among them are 30 orphans. Thirteen teachers currently work at the school, which has had working pit latrines for three years.
There are two other schools in the area, and all three schools had been sharing one shallow well, resulting in long lines of people waiting to get water. Because of the large population in the area, having a new well benefits both the school and the community by reducing the stress on the previously existing well.
The school has working pit latrines that have been working for three years. There is a very large amount of people living in the area and the new well is beneficial to the school and to the whole community.
