The Kololo Primary School is located in the Nimule Payam of Magwi County in the East Equatoria State of South Sudan. The school is a basic Primary School. There are 18 teachers and a total of 763 children, 304 boys and 479 girls. There are more than 140 orphans that go to school here which is a high percentage, but also quite common for South Sudan where two decades of civil war left most of the country with little or no infrastructure, schools or even roads.
The well serves the school but is also the only source of clean water for seven nearby villages. The nearest well other than the one Drop in the bucket completed is 1 km away and was declared unfit for human consumption after it was found to be the source of a major typhoid outbreak.
The new well has made a huge difference to the children from this school and also to the neighboring villages.
